THE STREET HAD NO NAME
The Street had no Name is speculative fantasy built around a simple question: what if magic was not magic at all, but merely the explanation people gave to something they had never been taught to understand?
Across worlds separated by the Fabric, an ancient Order watches, records and protects knowledge that most people will never know exists. Among its most powerful families are the von Triffels, the Masters of the North, whose responsibilities have passed from one generation to another along with secrets that are becoming increasingly difficult to keep.
But the Order is only part of a much larger story.
Father Peter Vicarel discovers abilities that should not be possible, perhaps because nobody ever taught him what he could not do. In wartime Europe, a Monk and a Rabbi become unlikely custodians of something far older than the conflict surrounding them. And moving quietly through events is Michael, the mysterious Initiator, whose appearances suggest purposes understood by very few.
Then there is Wilhelm Unruh, the young Steward drawn into the world of the von Triffels and the Order, where the questions he asks may prove every bit as important as the answers.
The Street had no Name is a story of parallel worlds, guarded knowledge, friendship, loyalty and honour, and of ordinary people discovering that the world they understand is only one small part of something much greater.
The Book
THE STREET HAD NO NAME
The Rom know there are places where the world does not behave as it should. They have travelled through enough of them.
Across countries, centuries and worlds, lives become caught in a story far larger than any one of them understands. A mysterious Scroll passes through history, guarded by those charged with its Keeping, while the Order watches over knowledge that was never intended to be widely known.
There are rules governing the Fabric and those who cross it. The Keepers know some of them. The Initiators know considerably more.
And through it all travel the Rom, perhaps understanding more than anyone suspects.
