circumstances.<\/p><p data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1688\">Taken together, they provide a revealing impression of Jir\u014d&#8217;s temperament: respectful of inheritance, impatient with inertia and data-start=\"2835\" data-end=\"2960\">For this reason they are frequently encountered without a name, and where attribution is supplied, it is often retrospective.<\/p><p data-start=\"2962\" data-end=\"3156\">Taken together, these remarks\u2014along with many others that have not survived\u2014came to form the working ethos of the <em data-start=\"3076\" data-end=\"3080\">ki<\/em> and, in time, much of the organisational spirit of the Iwamoto Corporation.<\/p><p data-start=\"3158\" data-end=\"3223\">They were never circulated as principles, nor codified as values.<\/p><p data-start=\"3225\" data-end=\"3271\">They were absorbed through repetition and use.<\/p><p data-start=\"3273\" data-end=\"3330\">Their persistence owed less to reverence than to utility.<\/p><p data-start=\"3332\" data-end=\"3469\">In this way they passed from individual habit into institutional character, shaping conduct long after their origin had ceased to matter.<\/p><p data-start=\"3332\" data-end=\"3469\"><strong>Then Learn<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"3491\" data-end=\"3630\">Underlying these remarks is a simpler injunction, repeated so frequently that it eventually lost attribution and entered ordinary practice:<\/p><ul><li data-start=\"3491\" data-end=\"3630\">Then learn.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"3649\" data-end=\"3729\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"3649\" data-end=\"3729\">Where others accepted limitation as fact, Jir\u014d treated it merely as description.<\/p><ol><li data-start=\"3733\" data-end=\"3799\">Illiteracy is not an identity, but a condition to be remedied.<\/li><li data-start=\"3733\" data-end=\"3799\">Inability is not a boundary, but an absence of method.<\/li><li data-start=\"3733\" data-end=\"3799\">What cannot yet be done is not forbidden, only unexplored.<\/li><\/ol><p data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"4080\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"3929\" data-end=\"4080\">This insistence\u2014that capability
